Joaquin and Marzena met in Poland while they were both completing their studies. During a Salsa competition in which Joaquin was competing, they both exchanged glances though out the night until Joaquin finally asked Marzena to dance. They immigrated to Canada in 1990 and started their new life together. |
Funders of Salsasion, Joaquin and Marzena Pineda have been successfully running Salsasion for over five years. As a Cuban national, Salsa has been a part of Joaquin's life since he was young. From dancing in the streets of Cuba to competitions in Europe, his style of Cuban Salsa has mesmerized audiences through out the world. "I'm so proud to bring this part of my heritage to my new home in Canada", Joaquin says. Dancing has been a part of Marzena's life since childhood as well, with a European flavour including Polonez, Disco, Jazz, and Krakowiak. However, Salsa has become her true passion since being introduced to it many years ago.
